Pune: The body of a 40-year-old construction worker was found in a building site in Ravet around 7pm on Thursday.
Senior inspector Rajendrakumar Rajmane of the Ravet police chowkey said the woman’s body was found in a pool of water in the basement of the construction site. “She was bludgeoned to death,” Rajmane said.
Rajmane said construction workers live on the premises with their families. “During the day, all workers go to work at different sites. The woman used to be alone there; she was told to guard the site by the contractor,” Rajmane said.
On Thursday evening, her husband returned from work and saw she wasn’t at home. “He searched around the site and found her body,” Rajmane said.
