REPL Bagged Consultancy For Water Supply Project In Bundelkhand Region Uttar Pradesh
Water and Sanitation Mission under the Department of Rural Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh has roped in Delhi-based Urban Development & Infrastructure Consultancy firm Rudrabhishek Enterprises Limited (REPL) to provide consultancy services for planning, designing and DPR preparation of piped drinking water in Bundelkhand. The contract was signed earlier this month in the presence of Dr. Harish Sharma (Chief Business Officer& Operations – REPL) and Shri. Surendra Ram, IAS (Executive Director – State Water & Sanitation Mission).
The larger scheme of water supply project of state government will focus on addressing the acute problem of drinking water supply in Bundelkhand in the region, and at a later stage Arsenic/ Fluoride and AES/JE affected areas in Uttar Pradesh, including the Bundelkhand and Vindhya regions. Presently the rural household need to travel great distance in fetching the water and still face the challenges in access to pure and hygienic drinking water. As per Government of India strategic plan (2011-2022), 90% of the rural population in the country has to be benefited with the pipe water supply. However as on date approximately only 19% rural population of Uttar Pradesh is covered with Pipe Water Supply Schemes. The initiative will greatly help in addressing these issues in the project areas.
REPL will prepare detailed project report (DPR) which includes the overall planning, engineering survey, designing of the supply model of piped drinking water in Banda, Chitrakoot & Hamirpur districts. Mr. Pradeep Misra (CMD- REPL) said, “It is a project of overwhelming responsibility as it directly impacts health and daily life of people residing in the area. We are already working on several consultancy assignments in the state; this gives us further confidence in successfully delivering the expectations from us. We are happy to realise the government has entrusted trust in REPL for carrying out this important project.”
Dr. Harish Sharma told that the scope of work will broadly include engineering survey, planning, designing and preparation of DPR of clusters, project integration, reviewing and re-verifying integrated modules, carrying out necessary surveys, investigations, situational analysis, preliminary cost estimates and development of area wise spatial mapping on assets.
REPL is working on several important government projects including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Housing for All (Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan & Himachal Pradesh), Directorate General Married Accommodation Project, Smart City projects (Kanpur Smart City, Dehradun Smart City, Indore Smart City & Varanasi Smart City). REPL works across levels (Regional, City & Zonal) with the Central and State Governments.
